Before you book

an Escape Room

  • Glad you asked! It is $23 per person (about the price of a movie and popcorn). We have a three ticket minimum which makes two tickets and three tickets the same end total. Sales tax and fees are added on upon checkout so the total price may be a bit more! The cost breakdowns are as follows:

    • 1-3 players: $69, so 1 player is $69, 2 players are $34.50 each, and 3 players are $23 each
      4 players: $92, $23 each
      5 players: $115, $23 each
      6 players: $138      , $23 each and so on and so forth with $23.00 per additional person.

  • There is no minimum age to play. All players that can walk around the escape room need to have a ticket. Younger ages that can be carried for the experience do not need a ticket but we do like to remind guardians that the rooms are not child proof. Outlets are accessible, and there may be items lower to the ground that can be broken. All players under the age of 18 will require a parent or guardian signature on the waiver on their behalf prior to playing one of our adventures. We reserve the right to deny underage players without a legally signed waiver.   • No way! We’re not like most escape rooms, we totally understand the environment escape rooms create and also understand that your experience may be more exciting with a group of people you are comfortable with. Our goal is to ensure that players have the best experience possible, therefore, we charge per group, and don’t require you to play with strangers.

  • You can find us in Downtown Manhattan, Kansas at 116 South 4th Street #122A. We are one block south of Poyntz Avenue on 4th Street or right across the street from “Wine Dive” restaurant. Check out our contact page to see a map.

  • Our individual adventures are generally designed for around six-eight people to play.

    We recommend, in a single escape room, for players be in groups of no more than 8, and no less than 2. If you have more people you can book multiple rooms in the same time block. If wanting to go solo, we can’t ensure you receive the same experience, as some of our puzzles require more than two people. Some of our rooms are so difficult that we have to place a minimum of three or four players to play.

  • We book our adventures by appointment only to ensure that our players get the greatest experience possible. Our bookings are as follows:
    Tuesday - Sunday we are open 10 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. *Availabilities subject to change.

  • Escape room adventure games are a new brand of entertainment sweeping the world. The concept behind an escape room is that you and several of your friends or family are locked in a room with a specific scenario and you have one hour (or more! We’ll see how our new rooms develop) to get out! Through teamwork, problem-solving, and story progression you live through a cinematic event, instead of watching one on a screen. These games are not designed to scare our players. We want you to be able to think through our puzzles and really experience the adventure in each room.  Even though these rooms aren’t scary experiences you will still absolutely feel a rush of adrenaline as the minutes tick away.

  • We make every attempt to ensure all of our players receive the same experience. This could result in us changing a room slightly to better fit certain needs. Please contact us prior to or immediately after booking your adventure for more information.

  • If you’re interested in playing with more than the recommended number of players, we’ve got you covered!

    • While each of our rooms has a maximum capacity of 8 players, you can book multiple rooms to accommodate larger groups. For groups of 9 players wishing to stay together in a single room, please contact Locked by phone to discuss and approve this special case. Please note that the experience may not be as optimal with 9 people in one room, as our experiences are not specifically designed for this.

      For larger groups requiring more than two rooms, please book multiple rooms within the same time block. Note that all bookings are visible on the full booking calendar. If a time is already booked that interrupts you trying to book multiple times there is nothing we can do. Beyond what has been mentioned, If you have an issue please give us a call to schedule, and we’ll be happy to assist you while also applying a special discount for large groups of 20 people or more.

After you book

  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time so we can go over any questions you may have and get you ready for your game. You then have one hour to complete the tasks at hand and escape our room. Afterward, we’d love to chat with you about your experience and maybe go over any puzzles you weren’t able to figure out. We would also like to post your victory or defeat photo to our social media accounts, so if you are willing, practice that smile. Plan on spending one hour and 30 minutes total at Locked Manhattan.

  • We make every attempt to accommodate late arrivals, however, groups who arrive more than 10 minutes late will forfeit their entire hour experience and play with their remaining minutes. Late arrivals will not receive a refund since we will have already blocked off the room for your group and no one else. We will be happy to work with you to reschedule the full experience at a later time, just let us know. This “make-up” adventure can be purchased at a discounted rate. If you change the time of your adventure more than 24-hours in advance there is no additional cost or penalty.

  • Not a problem! Make sure you are not exceeding the limit for the room, and tell the employee running your room that you have additional players. If you are adding people over the limit for your room, please contact us Locked by phone to discuss and approve this special case. Please note that the experience may not be as optimal with 9 people in one room, as our experiences are not specifically designed for this.

  • No, we don’t allow phones or any personal belongings for that matter in the rooms. This is to avoid any photos being taken of our rooms or outside information misleading our players. We have lockers for you to use in our lobby in order to safely lock up the items that you bring to Locked Manhattan. You will have possession of this locker’s key while in our establishment.

  • Not really. Most of our rooms are not designed to be scary at all, while two of our rooms may be creepy but DO NOT include jump scares. *Scary mileage may vary.

    • Even though these rooms aren’t outright scary you will still absolutely feel a rush of adrenaline as the minutes tick away. Immerse yourself in our adventures and live inside an hour-long story; solving puzzles and uncovering all the things needed to succeed in your escape!

  • For safety reasons, we ask that our players leave all weapons locked and secured at their home. We have lockers available for patrons to use, however, due to the nature of some of our adventures we don’t want any confusion or potential dangers for us or our players. Locked Manhattan follows Kansas law regarding concealed and open carry of firearms.

  • Don’t worry, we let you out of the room after your allotted hour! You won’t be stuck with us forever. We also give hints if needed, though, we aren’t looking to make this too easy for our players.

  • We prioritize the safety and well-being of our players at all times. Our games, rooms, and lobby are continually monitored by our staff. During your game, you will have access to a staff member who can assist you in contacting emergency services if necessary and facilitate your exit from the room. In the HIGHLY unlikely event that our staff is not immediately available during an emergency, each room is equipped with an emergency Exit button (panic button) located next to the door, providing you with quick access to leave the room. It’s important to note that using this button for a personal emergency will not affect the game. Additionally, for added reassurance, all our escape rooms are equipped with quick access door release buttons. Your safety is our priority, and while the experience is thrilling, we want all our players to feel secure throughout their adventure.

  • We would love to talk with you about your experience. Locked Manhattan staff cares greatly about the overall experience and your feedback is appreciated. We also recommend writing a review on Google Reviews, TripAdvisor, or the review section of our Facebook page. As is customary, we would also like to take your picture and post it to one or more of our social media accounts for you to find and share and also to celebrate your escape!

  • We hope to be adding new rooms with new stories and puzzles every several months to give our players a fresh experience every time they return.   • Unfortunately this is difficult due to our reservation based business. We book by appointment to ensure that our players have the optimal experience. We only accept booking appointments online so please visit our escape rooms page to choose and book your adventure. With that said, If you have the time and are in the neighborhood, swing by on the off chance a staff member is there and can fit you into the schedule.

  • We do not, however, if you wish to change the time of your room experience you can contact us at least 24 hours prior to your original appointment time and we will try to accommodate you.


  • We do! Please contact us and we’ll work with you to make a truly unforgettable experience. Escape room games have become a great, interactive way to work on team building and our staff would be happy to accommodate your group!

  • Absolutely! Please feel free to check out and buy gift cards here! 

  • Escape room adventures are meant to be fun, however, if it appears that our players are having too much “fun” we may ask them to leave. Our staff asks that players respect the experiences of those who come after them, so we can’t allow damage or messes to be created in our rooms.

  • We will alway try to assume the best in any situation. In situations where things have been damaged and need replaced, repaired, or cleaned we may require a fee added to your booking to cover this cost to our business. We will always inform you in the event of this situation. In order for Locked to stay unbroken for the next group we ask that you are responsible for your actions. Leave it better than you found it… or at least not worse!

  • We love to see our players talking about their experiences with us, however, we don’t want the rooms to be too easy for new players. Locked Manhattan asks that players not reveal our secrets, puzzles, or clues to make sure future players receive the same exciting experience as was intended. So, let’s keep this between us.
